Almond Fruit Drop Patterns under Mediterranean Conditions

چکیده

Almond is an important tree nut crop worldwide, and planted areas have been increasing year after year. While self-fertility one of the key factors when it comes to improved almond productivity new cultivars, yield also affected by number flowers produced, pollination, fruit set, drop, weight. drop patterns 20 Mediterranean cultivars were studied over three years. In addition, two scion ‘Marinada’ ‘Vairo’ budded onto eight 10 different rootstocks managed with pruning strategies for Cumulative flower ranged from 50% 90% among treatments, there up four events during growing season, main occurring 20–60 days full bloom (DFFB). Subsequent drops at 100 DFFB, 120–140 last 160–180 DFFB. The later less apparent. general, about half cumulative was comprised buds flowers, remaining percentage that dropped or more bloom. Furthermore, observed depending on cultivar. For late- extra-late flowering began decrease earlier, most occurred already bloom, whereas opposite early cultivars. Rootstocks had effect pattern, effects Tree management, such as type pruning, rate drop. Therefore, each combination cultivar × rootstock will require in order reduce optimize loads.

Flower age and pollenizer could affect fruit set in late - blooming self - 1 compatible almond cultivars under warm climatic conditions

18 The effect of the pollination time and of the pollen origin was studied in three self-compatible 19 and late-blooming almond genotypes in order to evaluate their effect on fruit set and yield. 20 The full self-compatibility of the three genotypes was clearly assessed as fruit sets after self21 pollination were similar to those obtained after cross-pollination with pollen from two 22 differen...

Quality Performance of 'Smyrna' Type Figs Grown under Mediterranean Conditions of Tunisia

‘Smyrna’ type figs (Zidi ‘ZD’: dark fruit and Thgagli ‘THG’; Bidhi ‘BD’ and Khedri ‘KHD’: white fruit) originated from two areas of fig production in Tunisia were subject to physico-chemical description and spectrophotometric analysis for their sugar (glucose, fructose and sucrose) and organic acid (citric and malic) contents. Fruit weight ranged between 54 and 82 g, fruit width between 47 and ...
